Carowinds announced it will be open only four hours Friday, due to the curfew established in Charlotte in response to the three days of protests.
The park will be open from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday. It will reopen Saturday at 10 a.m. and the Christian Music Day concert will proceed as scheduled.
Park officials said the abbreviated hours on Friday were being established for safety and well-being of guests and staff. The park will honor tickets originally purchased for Friday night through Sunday, Oct. 16.
“We continue to monitor the events in the region and are in communication with local law enforcement authorities to evaluate any future operating decisions, said Carowinds official person Laresa F. Thompson.
