A woman had to be hospitalized early Friday after being shot in her east Charlotte yard, reported the Observer’s news partner WBTV.
It happened around 4:55 a.m. in the 1800 block of Anderson Street, not far from East Sugar Creek Road, WBTV reported.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said the victim had been shot in the leg and was taken by Medic to Carolinas Medical Center.
TV station WSOC reports the victim is a mother of four, and she was shot when she left the house for work and came face-to-face with a man robbing someone in her driveway.
WSOC says she told officers that the suspect saw her and when she turned to run back inside the house, she was shot. WSOC is reporting police may have a suspect identified.
