Cherryville’s water is considered the best tasting in North Carolina.
The Cherryville Water Filtration Plant took home the first place trophy for best tasting drinking water at the North Carolina Rural Water Association annual conference, reports the Shelby Star
It competed against 11 other water systems for the title, with the judging done by a panel of “public figures” and industry professionals, it was reported.
The scores were based on taste, clarity, color and odor.
Cherryville received the highest overall score, the Shelby Star says.
If finances permit, Cherryville will compete nationally in the Great American Water Taste Test on Feb. 8 in Washington, D.C., says the Star.
