Charlotte’s third homicide of the week happened Thursday afternoon.
The victim’s identity had not yet been released early Friday. He is Charlotte’s 61st homicide of the year.
It happened around 5:06 p.m. in the 5400 block of Windy Valley Drive, which is northwest of uptown off the Brookshire Boulevard, detectives said.
No other details were released.
Charlotte has had two other killings this week, both shootings.
Early Monday, Joshua Schulman, 25, died after a violent home invasion and robbery on Outer Bridge Lane off Providence Road, and on Wednesday, Julian Anthony Harris, 32, was shot and killed by a security guard during what police say was an attempted robbery at a gaming parlor on Albemarle Road.
A suspect has not been named in the Schulman’s killing. His father was also shot during the home invasion, but the wounds were not life threatening.
