A Charlotte firefighter was hospitalized for heat exhaustion Tuesday morning, after battling a northeast Charlotte apartment fire, according to WBTV. Temperatures were in the mid 80s at the time and climbing.
The Charlotte Fire Department went to the fire around 9 a.m. at the Hunters Pointe apartment complex, in the 1800 block of Prospect Drive. Firefighters reported heavy fire coming from the building when they arrived, WBTV said.
The firefighter’s injuries are minor. Investigators are working to determine what sparked the flames.
