The 29-year-old Charlotte-Mecklenburg police candidate that died during physical fitness training last week will be laid to rest Monday, according to WBTV.
The department had recently hired the candidate, Jeremy Moseley, on June 27 when he collapsed and died on Tuesday. He was in the midst of 8:30 a.m. training with other candidates.
WBTV reports his funeral will be this morning at 11 a.m. at Saint Matthew Catholic Church on Ballantyne Commons Parkway.
WBTV reports the medical examiner is still investigating his cause of death. CMPD Chief Kerr Putney is expected to address reporters later on Tuesday with more information.
