A man already charged in the slaying of a Salisbury dentist was accused Wednesday in the burning of a Kannapolis heating and air conditioning business in November.
After a tip to CrimeStoppers, Kannapolis police obtained warrants for the arrest of Christopher Boyd, 21, on charges of burning other buildings, breaking and entering and felony larceny.
Moss & Moore on South Main Street burned down Nov. 16, and investigators ruled the fire suspicious. The tip alleged that Boyd could be the responsible person, police said.
Boyd and two others are charged with murder in the strangling death of Dr. James David Boyd, 47, no relation to Christopher. James Boyd's body was found in his home in June. He was in bed, his feet and hands tied with electrical cord and his hands tied to the bed.
Another defendant, Candice Jo Drye, has told police she and others performed sex acts with James Boyd in his office in exchange for prescription drugs.
