Dean, Burr to speak about presidential candidates at Davidson College today
Democratic national chairman Howard Dean and U.S. Sen. Richard Burr will speak at Davidson College today on behalf of their party's presidential candidates.
Dean will speak at 2 p.m. for fellow Democrat Barack Obama. Burr, a N.C. Republican, speaks at 3:30 p.m. for John McCain.
Both talks will take place in the Union Amphitheatre outside the Alvarez College Union (or in Lilly Family Gallery in case of rain). The talks are open to the public at no charge.
Group says Obama outspending McCain 6-to-1 on TV ads in N.C.
Democrat Barack Obama has outspent Republican John McCain 6-1 on TV ads in North Carolina in the past week, according to a monitoring group. According to the Wisconsin Advertising Project, Obama spent $1.2 million compared with $148,000 for McCain.
On Tuesday, Obama finished his third visit to the state in the past two weeks. McCain's last public visit came in May. In June he met with evangelist Billy Graham in Montreat.
