A Union County man who called police two weeks ago and reported his wife missing has been arrested and charged with murder.
Union County authorities confirm that Danny Edwards, 57, was taken into custody late Wednesday and is being held in a Union County jail.
His wife, Logan Drake Edwards, has been missing since Halloween night. Her body has not been found.
Waxhaw police detectives who were assigned to the case could not be reached Thursday.
Waxhaw police and other Union County authorities would not comment on several reports that a search for Logan Edwards' body took place Thursday in Clarendon and Orangeburg counties of South Carolina, near the town of Santee and the Santee-Cooper Reservoir. Logan Edwards' car was found there earlier this week, a short distance from Interstate 95.
Danny Edwards reported his wife missing on the night of Oct. 31. The couple lived on Collaroy Road, off Providence Road between Weddington and Waxhaw.
Edwards told police his wife was driving a 2008 Mazda Tribute. That vehicle, with license plates matching the missing car, was found abandoned in South Carolina.
