Today’s traffic: Problems on Independence, I-485

Inbound motorists on East Independence Boulevard are being slowed at 8:15 a.m. Monday by a collision in the left lane near the Pecan Avenue bridge.
The collision is affecting the left travel lane and is causing backups for inbound traffic.
The morning’s earlier major problem, two separate wrecks involving pickup trucks on the inner loop of I-485 in northwest Mecklenburg County, has been cleared. Traffic is moving again, as of 8:15 a.m., although the traffic flow remains sluggish in the area.
Here is the 8:15 a.m. update:
I-77 southbound, Lake Norman area ... Congestion; traffic moving 20-30 mph from Brawley School Road (Exit 35) down to Gilead Road (Exit 23).
I-85 southbound, Cabarrus County ... Congestion; traffic moving 20-30 mph from George Liles Parkway (Exit 54) down to Mallard Creek Church Road (Exit 46).
Albemarle Road inbound ... Congestion; traffic moving 15-25 mph from Lawyers Road to Sharon Amity Road. Also, a collision near the county line at Rocky River Church Road, with moderate delays.
Independence Boulevard inbound ... Congestion and a collision near Pecan Avenue; traffic moving 20-25 mph from Margaret Wallace Road to Albemarle Road; traffic moving 10-15 mph from Albemarle Road to uptown.
Providence Road inbound ... Congestion; traffic moving 20-25 mph from the Arboretum area to Wendover Road.
I-485 inner loop, south Mecklenburg ... Congestion; traffic moving 25-35 mph from Providence Road to I-77.
I-77 northbound, south Charlotte ... Congestion; traffic moving 25-35 mph from Carowinds Boulevard up to Clanton Road.
Johnston Road ... Congestion; traffic moving 15-25 mph northbound from the state line to I-485.
I-485 inner loop ... Earlier crash near Oakdale Road; moderate delays.
U.S. 321, Gaston County ... Congestion; traffic moving 15-25 mph in each direction between I-85 and Dallas-Cherryville Highway.
East 4th and Kings Drive ... Earlier multi-vehicle crash with injuries; minor delays.
North Davidson Street and East 6th Street ... Collision; minor to moderate delays.
