Caldwell youth improving after struck by car

Grayson Walker, the 15-year-old Caldwell County youth who was struck by a car while trying to save his dog on Feb. 24, has improved from critical to fair condition at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, a nursing supervisor said Tuesday.
According to the Praying for Grayson Walker Facebook page created by his family, Grayson has been able to follow some commands, randomly sit up on his own in bed and partially open his left eye. His family hopes he will be able to enter rehab soon.
Grayson, a sophomore at West Caldwell High School, suffered head trauma in the collision, his family said on Facebook.
Investigators said they continue to investigate what happened and haven’t filed charges agai
nst the driver.
