Hundreds protest Union school redistricting

Hundreds of people gathered in Wesley Chapel on Sunday to protest the Union County school board’s surprise vote last week approving a redistricting plan and to share information. The crowd held signs and heard speakers criticize the redistricting plan, which would require about 3,200 students to change schools. Parents also shared information on transfer options and possible legal actions. Some even filled out transfer forms. The decision last week angered many parents, who had expected the board to wait until April 1. Parents have vowed to sue the school district to stop the plan. David Foster and Dan Duffey
