Midday traffic on Interstate 77 was slowed near the state line Tuesday after a grass fire broke out.
The fire was reported near mile marker 1 shortly after noon. The N.C. Department of Transportation said traffic in the southbound lanes was affected.
Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control a short time later. Some slowdowns were still being reported at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday.
Otherwise, only a few problems are being reported early Tuesday afternoon on Charlotte-area roads.
Never miss a local story.
One earlier problem that has been cleared is a wreck in the 4400 block of North Tryon Street. That multi-vehicle collision, just north of Sugar Creek Road, was reported shortly after 8 a.m. Injuries were reported in that wreck, and it caused traffic slowdowns for about an hour.
