Parade will honor Freedom High state champs

Morganton will honor its state champion Freedom High School boys’ basketball team with a parade at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

The Patriots won the 3A state championship against Wilson Hunt at the Dean Smith Center in Chapel Hill on Saturday night.

The parade will be along Union Street between Bouchelle and College streets downtown.

Lineup will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Bouchelle Street; enter off Meeting Street. The parade will proceed along Union Street, turn right onto College and then disband in the parking lot beside Martha’s Park, behind Body Tech.
