Part of Poplar Street becomes 2-way on Saturday

The conversion of the road, between Third and Sixth streets, is part of the construction and development of nearby Romare Bearden Park and the BB&T Ball Park.

A portion of Poplar Street in Charlotte’s uptown will convert permanently a two-way thoroughfare Saturday.

The conversion of the road, between Third and Sixth streets, is part of the construction and development of nearby Romare Bearden Park and the BB&T Ball Park.

The change is designed to help the flow of traffic to and from both the park and the new baseball stadium. Motorists are urged to use caution for the next few days, until area residents get more accustomed to the change.
