A portion of U.S. 74 in eastern Anson County was closed for more than four hours overnight Monday after a tractor-trailer carrying grain overturned.
No serious injuries were reported in the single-vehicle wreck, which took place about 1:30 a.m. Monday on eastbound U.S. 74 near Camden Road. That is in Lilesville, east of Wadesboro.
The N.C. Highway Patrol said the driver of the truck reported he swerved to avoid hitting a deer. The truck landed on its side, spilling some of the load onto U.S. 74.
Troopers said the road was reopened about 5:30 a.m. after cleanup efforts had been completed. Steve Lyttle
