Two people were injured Monday afternoon after a crash involving a jet ski in Lake Norman.

A spokesman for the Iredell County Sheriff’s Department said the operator of a pontoon boat reported the crash about 12:30 p.m. and was able to get both people into his boat and bring them to shore.

One was airlifted out and the other was being taken to Carolinas Medical Center by ground transportation. Their conditions were not available Monday afternoon.

The accident happened at Channel Marker 6, at the end of Straw Pocket Lane in Mooresville. Officials with the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission will investigate.
