The two traffic trouble spots this Thursday morning are in northwest Charlotte and in central Iredell County.

In Charlotte, road work again means detours for inbound motorists on Beatties Ford Road. Outbound motorists will experience delays.

Crews are working on water and sewer pipes under Beatties Ford Road between Cemetery and French streets. The work began Wednesday afternoon.

Inbound motorists are being detoured onto Cemetery Street and French Street, back to Beatties Ford Road. For outbound motorists, only one lane is open. City officials said they expect to complete the work before the evening rush hour.

I-77 – Iredell County: An overnight wreck involving a tractor-trailer still has the left southbound lane closed near mile marker 54 in Statesville. That is north of Interstate 40.

The N.C. Department of Transportation estimated it will be noon before the lane is open. There have been backups of 1 to 2 miles throughout the morning on southbound I-77.
