Investigators are working to find the cause of an apartment fire in University City that displaced 10 residents Friday afternoon.
No injuries were reported in the 3-alarm fire that was called in shortly after 1 p.m. at 9605 Bonita Lane, Charlotte Fire officials said.
It took 67 firefighters nearly an hour to knockdown and control the flames, and the Greater Carolinas Chapter of the American Red Cross also responded to help displaced residents, according to the department.
Mecklenburg County tax records show that the 368-unit apartment complex – located off West Mallard Creek Church Road, near Interstate 85 – is owned by Fairfield Berkeley Place LLC.
The source of the fire and the amount of damage caused have yet to be determined, fire officials said.
