Police are at the scene of a motorcycle wreck at Old Concord Road and John Kirk Drive in the University City area.
The wreck happened at 5:25 a.m., and one person was taken to the hospital.
Motorists can take University City Boulevard as an alternate.
At 7:30 a.m., congestion was mounting during the morning commute in both directions on Interstate 485 between Charlotte and Pineville and both directions on Interstate 77 in Charlotte.
At 7:40 a.m., a disabled vehicle was reported at East Independence Boulevard and Idlewild Road.
Shortly before 8 a.m., police were investigating a two-vehicle wreck with injuries at West Boulevard near Remount Road.
