Hotter weather expected today

Temperatures will continue to climb on Wednesday, while scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected again in the Charlotte region.

Wednesday’s high is expected to reach 89 degrees — four degrees higher than Tuesday -- and then hit 91 degrees on Thursday and Friday, forecasters with the National Weather Service said.

The chance of precipitation stands at 50 percent on Wednesday, 20 percent Thursday, 30 percent Friday and 40 percent Saturday and Sunday.
