A 26-year-old man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a pharmacy robbery earlier that day in Cornelius, police say.
Joshua David Lerner, of Cornelius, was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and jailed under $100,000 bond, police said.
The robbery was reported about 3:15 p.m. at the Rite Aid Pharmacy in the 19400 block of West Catawba Avenue. Witnesses said a man with a T-shirt pulled over his head entered the store and took money at gunpoint.
Police looked at surveillance video and said they determined the type and color of vehicle used by the suspect. Investigators said police then checked town-operated surveillance cameras in the area and determined the registration number of the getraway vehicle.
After talking to the vehicle’s owner, police said, they learned that another man had used the car. Clothing and other items believed to have been used in the robbery were found in the vehicle and in the residence where Lerner was staying, police said.
