Charlotte Mecklenburg library to host slavery discussion

A Charlotte Mecklenburg Library branch will host a panel Saturday featuring two men who recently learned that the ancestor of one owned the other’s ancestor as a slave. “Stirring the Ashes: Can We Live With the Discomfort of Talking Openly About Slavery?” will start at 2p.m. at Morrison Regional Library, 7015 Morrison Blvd. The Observer detailed the story of the two men this year, and the author of the story, Gary Schwab, will serve as panel host.
