A man has been arrested in the death of Kent Torrey Hinkson, the 71-year-old Durham Anglican priest reported missing a week ago.
Matthew Reed, 36, has been charged with first-degree murder and is in the Orange County Jail, authorities said Sunday.
Hinkson’s body was found in Eno River State Park in Orange County early Sunday and has been sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.
Hinkson was last seen at his home in the Woodcroft community in southern Durham on Monday around 3 p.m.
Hinkson and his wife, Jeline, moved to Durham almost six years ago to be closer to children and grandchildren. They expected to celebrate their 48th wedding anniversary Wednesday. (RALEIGH) NEWS & OBSERVER
