Wanted: More than 500 zombies, vampires, werewolves and ghouls to haunt Carowinds’ annual Halloween event, Scarowinds.
No previous acting experience is needed, park officials say. Applicants need to be at least 16; available to work weekends from mid-September through Nov. 1; and, of course, have the ability to scare.
Auditions will be held 5-8 p.m. every Thursday and Sunday through Oct. 5 at the park’s Human Resources office. Applications are available online and should be filled out ahead of time, officials said.
Scarowinds – which starts Sept. 12 and will be open on select nights through Nov. 1 – also seeks to hire makeup artists, costume designers and support cast.
Never miss a local story.
Among this year’s new attractions is the Blood Yard, full of thirsty vampires, and returning favorites will include haunted mazes, scare zones and the demented scarecrows of Cornstalkers, officials said.
“Our Scarowinds designers and planners work year round to create fun and frightening experiences for our guests,” said Josh Hamrick, Carowinds’ entertainment manager.
“We’re looking for creative people who can bring their vision to life.”
