An 80-year-old Charlotte woman with dementia is missing, and police are asking for the public’s help to find her.
Sarah Whitner was first reported missing at 1:44 p.m. Monday in south Charlotte, near Randolph and South Sharon Amity roads.
Whitner’s daugther told police she was last seen at 5017 Randolph Road. The daughter said the family believes Whitner left home at about 10:30 a.m. to look for her dog.
Animal Control located the dog.
Whitner suffers from cognitive issues and has been diagnosed with dementia. She is 5 feet, 2 inches and 105 pounds. Whitner, who goes by Salley, has gray hair and blue eyes, police said.
She drives a 2009 silver/champagne-colored Mini Cooper with North Carolina license plate BMA-2096, police said.
