Bicyclist hit by truck in south Charlotte

A boy riding a bicycle was injured Tuesday afternoon in a collision with a truck in south Charlotte, authorities say.

The collision was reported shortly after 1:15 p.m. in the 5600 block of Flagstaff Drive. That is off Tyvola Road, next to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools’ Family Application Center.

Police were investigating the cause of the collision. Medic transported the youth to the hospital, but the extent of the victim’s injuries was not known.
