A man was seriously injured in a Sunday morning shooting in east Charlotte, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police Capt. Todd Lontz said.

The man was shot about 2 a.m. on Spanish Quarter Circle, near North Sharon Amity Road and Central Avenue. He was taken to the hospital with injuries that were initially described as life-threatening, although that condition improved to serious, said Lontz.

The investigation was continuing, and no suspects had been arrested, he added. Elisabeth Arriero
