One lane of traffic is blocked on Parkwood Avenue at Union Street due to a minor accident between a Charlotte-Mecklenburg bus and a CATS bus. The school bus, headed to Metro School, appears to have side-swiped the city bus and damaged a mirror, police on the scene said. No passengers were on the city bus when police arrived and eight children were on the school bus, which has continued its route. No injuries were reported.

Traffic is slow on I-77 northbound between Celanese Road (Exit 82) and Sutton Road (Exit 83) in Fort Mill due to an accident.

Charlotte Mecklenburg police are reporting a personal injury wreck at East Sugar Creek Road and Dinglewood Avenue near The Plaza.

A reminder: Motorists in Charlotte’s Dilworth community can expect heavy traffic today through Sunday, with the 37th annual Yiasou Greek Festival underway at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral on East Boulevard.

The heaviest congestion is likely around midday hours and during the evening commute today. Those are times when many people visit the festival to buy lunch or dinner. Congestion likely will be heavy on East Boulevard and on a number of cross streets in the area.

Construction

Arrowood Road ... The center left-turn lane between Windsong Drive and Hebron Street will be closed at 9 a.m. today through Sept. 19. The closure is needed for construction of the water main replacement, according to city transportation officials.

Caldwell Street North Caldwell Street is closed in both directions at East Trade Street due to construction.
