Charlotte’s light-rail service will be curtailed this weekend, according to Charlotte Area Transportation Service officials, so crews can work on several projects.
Trains will run Saturday and Sunday only between the Scaleybark station and Interstate 485.
However, CATS officials said, buses will connect passengers from Scaleybark to light-rail stops farther north on the line, including the Transportation Center. Passengers with light-rail tickets will be able to transfer to the connecting buses without an additional charge.
At the northern end of the line, Eighth Street will be closed between College and Brevard streets, so crews can do utility work as part of the extension of rail service to UNC Charlotte. Steve Lyttle
