Celebrity cars from the collections of NASCAR stars Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kelley Earnhardt Miller, Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin, team owner Rick Hendrick and former driver Rusty Wallace will be on display at Saturday’s second annual “AmeriCarna LIVE” Car Show.
Former NASCAR crew chief Ray Evernham will host the show at the Ingersoll Rand North American headquarters and corporate center at 800 Beaty St. Ingersoll Rand and MSC Industrial Supply Co. sponsor the show, which supports IGNITE, a community center in Davidson for young adults with high-functioning autism or Asperger’s syndrome.
Sprint Cup drivers Hamlin, Logano and Ryan Newman are expected to attend. Ron Malec, car chief of the No. 48 Lowe’s Chevrolet, is also slated to appear along with Lou Santiago from the Velocity Channel’s “Car Fix” show and “Crazy” Jake Crimmins.
The celebrity cars will join hundreds of classic, custom and collector cars at the show, which is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Spectator admission is $5 per person (ages 9 and under are admitted free). Awards will be presented at about 2:15 p.m.
The show also will feature live music from local bands, a Q & A with Evernham and local celebrities, a silent auction, food vendors and a celebrity car corral.
Celebrity cars will include Earnhardt Jr.’s 1988 Chevrolet S-10; Logano’s 1939 Rat Rod; Hamlin’s 1967 Lincoln Continental; Earnhardt Miller’s 1972 Volkswagen Beetle; Wallace’s 1966 El Camino; several from Hendrick’s collection; and NASCAR crew chief Chad Knaus’ 1972 Camaro.
Cars from the second season of “AmeriCarna,” also on Velocity, will be displayed.
