Two China Grove pet owners are charged after officials say their dogs were so deprived of food, they were forced to eat several puppies.
Danielle and Nathan Morris of 120 Elm Street are accused of not providing adequate sustenance to their dogs, leading to obvious signs of malnutrition. Rowan County officials said the adult dogs continued to be deprived of food after eating several puppies, believed to have belonged to the dogs.
Nathan Morris, 42, and 37-year-old Maria Morris are both charged with cruelty to animals. They were taken to the Rowan County Detention Center and each given a $1,000 secured bond.
