If you were planning to visit North Carolina’s coast for the three-day Labor Day weekend, Tropical Storm Hermine brings good news and bad.
The bad news: Saturday is mostly a bust in North Carolina.
The good: Sunday and Monday are worth the trip.
Saturday’s coastal forecast in North Carolina promises a turbulent mix morning to mid day, with wind gusts, lingering storms and rain. Things improve Saturday afternoon, with a mix of clouds and sunshine. In South Carolina, things will be better, including the Myrtle Beach area.
Sunday and Monday are expected to be glorious, with sunshine and less humidity at the coast. Coastal lows will be in the 60s and highs in the mid 80s.
Travelers are advised not try making the drive east Friday night or Saturday morning, due to the potential for coastal flooding from Hermine.
Also, check ahead to make sure damage was not sustained by roads, as well as your hotel or motel.
