The Small Business Center at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College will offer a course that gives entrepreneurs step-by-step instructions on how to start a small business. It meets 6:30-9 p.m. Tuesdays, Feb. 16-April 13, at the college's Cabarrus Business & Technology Center, 660 Concord Parkway N.
The course is called REAL, which stands for Rural Entrepreneurship through Action Learning. The fee is $65 for the 10 sessions.

Owners Coral Riley, Dana Jordan and Judy Theobald of Mooresville plan to open Macie's Encore Bridal on Feb. 25 in Ahlara International, 155 Joe Knox Ave.
The off-the-rack and consignment wedding boutique will offer bridal gowns, mother's dresses, flower girl dresses, bridesmaids dresses, and decor, jewelry and favors.
To help couples go "green" with their weddings, the owners will also offer after-reception pickup of any items that couples want to consign. The store will also offer on-site alterations, consignment pickup and dress cleaning.
Brides will be able to get facials and massages while visiting the boutique, and shop in the D'Lynne boutique in Ahlara.
The Macie's Encore Bridal concept was launched in August at the Bridal Showcase and in September at www.maciesencorebridal.com.
