On Saturday, the volunteers from the Balls Creek Bassmasters fishing club will hold their 24th annual bass tournament at Queens Landing, Mooresville, to raise money for the V Foundation for Cancer.
Since 1986, the tournament has raised more than $723,000 to fight cancer.
Bob Patrick, chairman of the tournament, said that he expects more than 200 boats and a large spectator crowd.
Anglers are lured from the Carolinas and surrounding states to try to catch five big bass to win a brand new, fully-rigged Skeeter Bass Boat. This event is the longest-running charity tournament held on Lake Norman.
The launch starts at 7 a.m. at Queens Landing: 1459 River Highway, Mooresville. Weigh-in will start at 2:30 p.m.
