Walter Ray Williams Jr., the reigning Professional Bowlers Association player of the year, is scheduled to make his Senior Tour debut in the PBA Senior Miller High Life Classic, today through Wednesday at George Pappas' Victory Lanes in Mooresville.
Williams will be among more than 130 of the world's top Senior Tour players, 50 and older, who will compete in the third stop of the 30th Senior Tour season.
Williams earned a record seventh Player of the Year honor at the conclusion of the season-ending Lumber Liquidators Marathon Open in Baltimore April 4.
That seventh honor broke a tie with the late Earl Anthony. At 50, Williams also became the oldest to win the crown.
Notable players scheduled to compete include defending champion Dale Eagle, reigning Senior Player of the Year Ron Mohr, PBA Hall of Famers Johnny Petraglia, two-time Senior U.S. Open champion Wayne Webb, four-time Senior Player of the Year Tom Baker, last year's runner-up Mark Williams George Pappas.
Competition begins with eight-game qualifying blocks at 11 a.m. and 5p.m. Monday and Tuesday.
