Hospice & Palliative Care Lake Norman raised about $69,000 for care for the terminally ill through its 10th annual Lake Norman Hospice Regatta & Party May 14 and May 21-23.
Longtime Lake Norman sailor Chip Richardson and his team on the J37C "Jazz" persevered through varied weather and sailing conditions to take top honors. Richardson's team is invited to represent Hospice & Palliative Care Lake Norman at the 2011 National Hospice Regattas Alliance Championship in Rochester, N.Y., in June 2011. The first alternate is Steve Hesler, winner of the Highlander Class.
