A community open house is scheduled Tuesday to unveil the draft of the Harrisburg Land Use Plan.
The draft includes community input about guidelines for future development in the Harrisburg area. Residents of that area are invited to view the draft plan and make comments by dropping in between 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Cabarrus County Public Library's Harrisburg branch, 201 Sims Parkway, Harrisburg.
Cabarrus County and the town of Harrisburg are working together to create the plan for an area in and around Harrisburg, roughly bounded by the Rocky River, Rocky River Road and the Mecklenburg County line. The plan will guide leaders of Cabarrus County, Harrisburg and the Cabarrus County Schools as they consider new development and school construction.
Never miss a local story.
All maps, presentations and documents related to the plan are posted on the Cabarrus County website, and all resident comments are posted on the website. For details, log onto planning.cabarruscounty.us/harrisburg or call 704-920-2141.
