Mooresville Concerts will open its fourth year with a performance by Davidson Express at 7 p.m. Saturday at Joe Knox Theater in the Charles Mack Citizen Center, 215 N. Main St.
This year's series will have six performances through April. Sponsored by the town, the series focuses on local performing groups.
Davidson Express offers a mix of traditional bluegrass standards and the band's original songs.
Other performances will include the Charlotte group Testostertones on Nov. 13; the Cockman Family of Sherrills Ford for a Christmas program Dec. 19, playing their original songs and arrangements of old gospel songs; and Bayou Diesel for a Mardi Gras celebration Feb. 12.

The March and April concerts will be announced later. A free meet-the-performers reception follows each concert.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students and free for children younger than 10. Season passes are $45.
