No-limit fishing is available at the 10-acre pond at Frank Liske Park through Dec. 31.
There is an estimated 1,000 pounds of fish, including bass, carp and catfish. Anglers can take home everything they catch, regardless of size.
The temporary waiver of N.C. Wildlife Commission fishing regulations will help remove as many fish as possible before the pond is drained in January for repairs to the dam. Remaining fish will be transplanted to ponds at Camp T.N. Spencer Park. The pond will be closed for several months until it fills with rainwater and can be restocked.
