Call for entries: Fabulous Fakes entries can be dropped of at the Depot at Gibson Mill 1-4 p.m. March 4. Choose the work of any Old Master Impressionist to copy, try your best to copy in a similar format with a small, original mark or small change somewhere in the painting. Sign the painting with the original artist's signature and add your name under the signature. Unlimited entries accepted. The copy may be done in any media, painting should be priced reasonably. Old Courthouse Theater
Performance: Divorce Southern Style 8-10:30 p.m. Feb. 18-19, 2:30 p.m. Feb. 20. This fast-paced farce centers on the zany schemes of a middle-aged divorcee who decides the time is ripe to get back together with her ex-husband. Divorced for fifteen years, and running low on cash, Eleanor Bander decides reconciliation with her ex-husband is her best hope. Old Courthouse Theatre, 49 Spring Street, Concord.
Grant awarded: Malena Bergmann was awarded a grant from the Gallucci Creative Fund. She will direct and produce an upcoming collaborative performance project, which will be documented in still photography and video. Christopher Thomas, an experimental filmmaker will be director of photography. Current BFA candidate Suje Garcia will perform and create a kinetic sculptural component.
Lecture: Photographer Joyce Tenneson will give a Canon Explorers of Light lecture "The Intimate Portrait" 7 p.m. April 1 in Storrs Hall at the School of Architecture at UNCC. This lecture is in conjunction with an April 2 workshop at the Light Factory, sponsored by UNCC's Art of Light Photography Club and the Light Factory.
