The Mooresville Artist Guild is seeking area student artists for its Youth Art Month show in March. Ribbons and cash prizes will be awarded in four age groups kindergarten through high school.

The Mooresville Recreation Department will host a free arts and crafts festival 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at the Charles Mack Citizen Center, 215 N. Main St.
It will feature local and regional vendors and a children's craft area.
On Saturday, the Cornelius Police Department, the BRAKES program and State Farm Insurance will host a free Driver's Experience event 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Cornelius Town Hall parking lot, 21445 Catawba Ave.
The event will show novice drivers the potentially fatal consequences and other dangers of driving while intoxicated or distracted.

The N.C. Cooperative Extension offices in Iredell, Wilkes and Alexander counties are offering Hy Line Brown pullets (red chickens, brown eggs) for sale. They are vaccinated for the following diseases: Newcastle, bronchitis, Fowl pox, Bovine, A.E., L.T. and Marek's. They will be about 18 weeks old and will begin to lay shortly after delivery.
The source for the pullets is Snider Poultry Co. in Staley. Pick them up at Steele Feed and Seed in Mount Ulla. The price is $6.25. A very limited number of roosters are available at the same price.
The Iredell Extension office will take orders; call 704-873-0507 before March 25. Numbers are limited. Delivery will be 10-11:30 a.m. April 1. Purchasers must supply their own crates.
