Judge's memories: District Court Judge Martin McGee's article "Questions after a Decade on the Bench" was published in the current edition of the North Carolina Bar Journal. The Journal is a quarterly magazine sent to state bar members and N.C. certified paralegals.
Appointments: City Council member Ella Mae Small was appointed to National League of Cities Finance, Administration and Intergovernmental Relations Committee. City Council member David Phillips was appointed to the North Carolina League of Municipalities Planning and Environment Legislative Action Committee.
Hospital helicopter: Carolinas HealthCare System has moved a helicopter to Concord Regional Airport to provide faster service for the transport of critically ill or injured patients. MedCenter Air, the regional service for CHS, operates three helicopters and other aircraft for CHS.
Ribbon cutting: Five Oaks Manor will host a ribbon cutting and open house for the new rehabilitation unit March 17 at 413 Winecoff School Road. The facility recently underwent a complete facility remodel.
Relocation: Cabarrus County Convention and Visitors Bureau will relocate its offices and primary visitor information center to Bruton Smith Boulevard at Interstate 85, Exit 49.
