Health career fair: The second annual Allied Health "Careers with a Future" showcase will take place 6-8 p.m. March 16 at CMC Northeast. The free event is open to students and parents of Cabarrus County Schools. Learn about résumé and interview tips and how to pay for school. Career professionals will also be on hand at the event.
Concord High School
Letter jackets: Athletes may purchase varsity letter jackets March 23 during lunch.
Caps and gowns: Senior cap and gown pictures will take place March 25. Students can pick up their caps and gowns March 21.
Mt. Pleasant High
Fundraiser: the Mt. Pleasant Softball Program will have a Flapjack Fundraiser at Applebees 8-10 a.m. March 26. $7. 1240 N.C. 29, Concord.
Hickory Ridge High School
Team member of the month: Mark McSwain was selected as March's Team Member of the Month. McSwain is the Career Development Coordinator.
Improv troupe: The Hickory Ridge Improv troupe will represent the school at the Improv Olympics. The event is sponsored by the Edge Theatre Company and will take place at South Pointe High School in Rock Hill, S.C. at 2:00 p.m. March 19. Team members are: Drew Andreotti, Erin Neely, Morgan Britton, Gabe Marquez, David Cheek and Ben Mack.
Indoor Ensemble: The Indoor Winter Ensembles competed at Concord High School on March 5. The Percussion group placed first in Scholastic Novice and the Winter Guard placed second in Scholastic AA after a class promotion at the last event. The Indoor Ensemble groups will finish their season with CWEA Championships at Winthrop University on March 26.
Harris Road Middle

Cox Mill High
Powderpuff: Sign-ups for Powderpuff Football in the Commons during all lunches will end March 21. The game will be the traditional Seniors and Sophomores vs. Juniors and Freshmen. The cost is $15 per player and includes a T-shirt. Male cheerleaders can also sign-up at a $2-$5 donation. Male cheerleaders will compete during the half-time show for a special prize.
Cheer banquet: March 17th directly after school.
Mt. Pleasant High School
Tranfer process: Student transfers and releases are made in limited circumstances. Parents requesting a transfer for their student have until June 1 to submit an application. Applications are available under Student Services on the Cabarrus County Schools website.
