Actress Karen Abercrombie, who said she has appeared on such TV shows as “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” “Ally McBeal” and “Judging Amy,” has started a local theater company for children ages 9 through 14.
Angels' Flight Children's Theatre Company will hold auditions 10 a.m.-noon Aug. 30 at the Charles Mack Citizen Center, 215 N. Main St.
Children should have a prepared monologue or be prepared to audition from material available at the audition, Abercrombie said. Singing at the audition also is encouraged, she said.
The 18 children selected for the company will train and perform throughout the community and participate in one “Main Stage” performance in the spring, Abercrombie said. Children must commit to the company from September to May. The fee is $23.75 per week, and class will meet once a week for two hours.
Abercrombie also will teach acting classes once a week for 11/2 hours. The fee is $18 per week, and students will perform for family and friends every nine to 12 weeks.
She said she has 28 years of professional experience, including various film and commercial credits.
