Three small-business owners will be honored during the 2008 Greater Lake Norman Blue Chip Community Business award luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 16, at the Charles Mack Citizen Center.

Scott Thompson of Thompson Wealth Management Consultants was recently named a 2008 Five Star: Best in Client Satisfaction Wealth Manager by Charlotte magazine.

Thompson began his financial career in 1986 with Wachovia Bank, where he held positions including business banker and branch manager. He formed Thompson Financial Services Inc. and now manages offices in Statesville and Mooresville.
Charlotte Magazine formed a partnership with Crescendo Business Services, an independent research firm, to identify the “best in client satisfaction” wealth managers in the area.
The local Rotary Club District 7680 is seeking four professionals to participate in a group study exchange to visit Egypt from April 2 to May 5. Rotary will cover all costs except incidental and personal expenses for the selected participants.
While in Egypt, team members will stay in Rotarians' homes and meet professional counterparts.
