Tickets are on sale for “Murder at the Speedway,” an interactive murder mystery play. The play is set for Oct. 25 at the Charles Mack Citizen Center, 215 N. Main St. The cost is $65 per person, which includes dinner. Tickets will be sold in advance only. Proceeds will benefit Serenity House of Mooresville, a comfort care home.
The story revolves around a press tour to elevate interest in Ruthie-Lynn Lavonne's latest romance novel, “Love in the Winner's Circle.”

The New Beginnings Singles Club of Lake Norman has recently changed meeting locations. The club meets 6:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month at Showmars Restaurant.
The club is open to 40-and-over singles. Upcoming activities include a hike at Stone Mountain, trips to the Pompeii exhibition at Discovery Place, the Brushy Mountain Apple Jam in Wilkesboro and the balloon festival in Statesville, and a Halloween party.

The Iredell County Marine Corps League Detachment 1097 recently held a flag-burning ceremony at the American Legion Post in Troutman to retire the flag that flew over the Chic-fil-A Restaurant in Mooresville.
The proper way to dispose of a used, worn or torn U.S. flag is to burn it. The Chic-fil-A in Mooresville requested that the Marine Corps League of Iredell County hold a formal flag burning ceremony to dispose of their used flag.
