During their preseason workouts, student athletes at Davidson Day School learned lessons about teamwork, responsibility and commitment by volunteering at the Ada Jenkins Center in Davidson.
All middle school and varsity athletes took time from training to join athletic director Kevin Buechler and coaches in doing landscape work and stocking shelves at the Loaves and Fishes emergency food pantry.
The Davidson Police Department has issued the following statement: “We … remind individuals that it is illegal to remove campaign signs from front yards. This is considered private property and those caught will be fined.”

The town of Davidson has selected the Connect-CTY mass notification service and conducted its first test call on Oct. 7.
The town has implemented the Connect-CTY service to provide town officials the ability to communicate with residents regarding time-sensitive incidents, which may include planned and unforeseen public safety matters.
