Get fit, seniors: People who register by April 16 for the fourth annual Lake Norman Senior Fun and Fitness Day will get a $2 discount. The event for those 55 and older will be 10 a.m. April 20 at Jetton Park. There will be a fitness walk and special activities at 15 fitness stations. Blood pressure checks also will be provided. Loser wins: Judy Cole, who lost 26 pounds, was the winner of the recent Lake Norman Nutrition Weight Loss Challenge hosted by The Daily Shake in Cornelius. Sally's Y approved: Construction of Sally's Y in Denver recently was approved by The YMCA of Greater Charlotte Metropolitan board of directors and the Sally's YMCA board of managers. Site work for the 22,000 square-foot facility will begin this month. An official ground-breaking ceremony is scheduled for April 24. It will be in the Forney Creek Park development, near Optimist Club Road. It is named after the late Sally McKenzie Clark, who died in a car accident in 2004 at the age of 19.
