N.C. 73 repairs: McGuire Nuclear Station and the N.C. Department of Transportation will perform rail and road repairs through May 7 on N.C. 73 near Cowans Ford Dam. The two-lane road will be reduced to one lane. Crews will start after morning rush hour and quit before afternoon rush hour.

Kiwanis Club helps Ada: The Kiwanis Club of Lake Norman recently donated $3,592 to the Ada Jenkins Center in Davidson. Proceeds came from last month's pancake breakfast at First Baptist Church of Huntersville. The center provides access to medical and dental care, youth education, computer classes and a crisis ministry. The Kiwanis Club meets 7:30 p.m. Thursdays at Acropolis Café and Grille in Cornelius. Window design contest: Davidson Community Players is seeking ideas for a window display featuring its June musical, "Oklahoma!." Entries are due May 24.
